The Chattanooga State Softball team has begun its season on a high note as they’ve come out of the gate with an 8-2 mark. After a week and a half off due to postponements, the Lady Tigers swept a pair from Cleveland State this past weekend.
In 2019 the team finished with a 43-10 overall record, 23-5 in conference, were Region VII Champions as well as TCCAA Region VII Tournament Champions. In addition, head coach Blythe Golden was named the TCCAA Coach of the Year.
Every Tuesday on The Word With G Chattanooga State head softball coach Blythe Golden will join me at about 12:25 p.m.
This week coach Golden joined the show to talk about how the team has been clicking on all cylinders from every standpoint as they beat up on Roane St last week but then were washed out from playing four more games later in the week. Therefore, coach got into keeping her girls sharp with the down time, the substitution rule in softball and how it might benefit baseball, her favorite Easter candy, and more.
