There are big things happening for a couple of youth football programs around the Chattanooga area as the Tennessee Titans have stepped in and answered the bell to help four youth football programs in the area with a sizable donation.
According to a report from News 3, the team has donated over $315,000 to support various forms of youth football including youth, flag, and football programs across the region.
The programs that applied and will be receiving the grants are Red Bank High School, East Ridge High School, Chattanooga Central High School, and Ooltewah Youth Football.
In the News 3 article, Red Bank high school head football coach Christopher Brown said, “Red Bank has a rich tradition of strong athletics and community pride, and this project and the Titans’ donation towards it is a direct reflection of what our students deserve and have deserved for some time. As much as we know that our role is to serve our student body, it’s refreshing to see the titans giving back to so many other Tennessee schools as well.”
It’s said that the donation will be in the range of about $5,000 and will be used towards setting up a brand new weight training facility for student-athletes. This project by the Titans to give back is all about enhancing the student-athlete experience through education and the game of football.
