The NFL rumor mill began turning when it came to Atlanta Falcons stud wide receiver Julio Jones this week as a report surfaced from Jeff Schultz of The Athletic that the team was looking to potentially move the 32-year old pass-catcher.
Now, it may seem a little bit odd for the Falcons to pull the trigger on a deal that would send Jones anywhere since they just restructured quarterback Matt Ryan’s contract that essentially locks him in as the starter for at the very least the next two seasons and not drafting a young QB this past draft signals that ATL is still going for it. If the Falcons are truly still in “go for it” mode then trading Julio Jones would make little to zero sense. However, that’s not why you’re here, you’re here as a Titans fan to see how in the world a team with just over $3M in cap space could acquire such a weapon like Jones…
Well, on a recent episode of the Titan Up Talk Podcast, host Chase Green posed the question, “How do the Titans make room for Julio Jones?” to Titans analyst Mike Herndon who tells us that acquiring the veteran receiver might not be as difficult as we would all assume with the lack of funds that Tennessee currently has.

BINGO, there ya go it’s as simple as converting Ryan Tannehill’s 2021 salary into a bonus and then just spread that money out a bit so there’s enough to go around this year for Jones to be paid is $15M that he’s owed.
A couple of the current Tennessee Titan players have already begun campaigning for the former Alabama standout in fellow wide-out AJ Brown as well as former Crimson Tide running back Derrick Henry.
Brown had this to say when fantasizing about the possibility of playing with a man he called his idol:
I would give up #11 if this happens. Playing alongside my idol would be crazy . No team is stopping this!!! https://t.co/2ZMQ1tCmBk

King Henry’s message was pretty simple:

Really, enough said. The Titans can make this work and if they did it would automatically turn their offense into one of the most dangerous in the entire NFL.
