Station Update – Friday, April 21

The Brewer Media Group radio station on Carter Street was struck by lightning on Tuesday night, which resulted in a power surge throughout the building. The power surge has resulted in equipment damage that has limited our station’s live local programming. As a result, David Paschall and Jay Greeson were unable to host Press Row on Wednesday and Thursday. The plan was to have all of the equipment serviced, returned and installed in time for the show this afternoon.

UPDATE: I regret to inform you that Press Row will NOT air this afternoon from 3-6 p.m. EST on ESPN 105.1 The Zone. The new equipment did not arrive this morning as scheduled, making it impossible to host a live show from the ESPN studio. Our engineering team has been working tirelessly since the power surge occurred to convert another studio for ESPN-use, but too many obstacles have appeared. Weston Wamp on ‘The Pitch’ will be off-air tomorrow as well.

ESPN Radio’s nationally syndicated lineup can be heard on the station until further notice. All Atlanta Braves broadcasts will be aired in their entirety.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused all of our listeners. Please understand that this is out of our control and that we are working hard to bring Press Row and our other live and local programming back to the airwaves as soon as possible.

Station updates will be posted on this website and the station’s social media accounts (Facebook & Twitter) as they become available.

Thanks for your patience and understanding and for listening to ESPN 105.1 The Zone.

Wells Guthrie
