Baylor and UGA alumn, Harris English, was one of six golfers added to round out the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
English has two wins on the PGA tour this year and eight top ten finishes. He recently tied for 18th at the FedEx with Sam Burns at six under. He finished 10th on the Ryder Cup standings, meaning he needed a personal selection from team captain, Steve Strickler.
English averages just under 300 yards off the tee, 68th in the PGA, but English is incredibly smart with his shots and will be a valuable asset moving forward to the Ryder Cup.
Joining English will be Daniel Berger, Tony Finau, Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth. Additionally, the six automatic qualifiers are Collin Morikawa, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and FedEx Cup champion Patrick Cantlay.
Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Paul Casey, Tyrell Hatton, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Lee Westwood, Shane Lowry and Sergio Garcia will be representing Europe for the Ryder Cup. They are the most recent winners.
The 43RD Ryder Cup begins September 21st and will be played at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.
