The former head football coach for the Red Bank Lions has stepped away from his duties after four years running the Red Bank football program as Chris Brown will now be tackling another challenge. He’ll be taking his coaching talents just down the road to Baylor where he’ll serve as the Red Raiders defensive coordinator.
The move will allow Brown to get back to his roots as a defensive minded coach.
“The best part about my career is I’ve always favored the defensive side of the ball, that’s where I’ve always spent the majority of my work but it’s really because I was a very, very bad offensive player in college.” Brown continued. “So, I spent all my time on the scout team getting to listen to some of the best defensive coaches I’d ever been around.”
In addition, he said he’s okay with not being the man fully in charge of a program.
“I’m excited to learn a different management style and not be in the drivers seat, so to speak (as he laughed). I believe in being fast and violent favoring speed on the field at all times.”
