Chattanooga Mocs offensive lineman Cole Strange is in Indianapolis for the exclusive NFL Scouting Combine this weekend.
CHATTANOOGA—Chattanooga Mocs offensive lineman Cole Strange has his next audition this weekend at the NFL Scouting Combine. He’s made the trek to Indianapolis, trained and prepared for what’s to come.
The two biggest opportunities for senior collegiate football student-athletes to make their case for the NFL are the Reese’s Senior Bowl and the Scouting Combine. He’s looking to go two-for-two.
“It’s the next step for Cole,” Coach Rusty Wright noted. “He’s building a heckuva resume through this process. We’re excited to follow along this weekend and hopefully see him back in Chattanooga soon.”
The combine starts on Tuesday and continues through Monday. Strange’s offensive line group’s workout day is Friday, March 4. What will his visit to Indy look like?
There are interviews with every team. Intense job interviews talking to him about strategies, work experience, life experience and anything that someone could think of to evaluate the sizeable investment an early round selection entails. Plus, there’s the workout portion where he’ll do a variety of tasks that resemble an obstacle course in some ways as well as position-specific drills.
They take his physical measurements along with complete injury evaluation. There’s a drug screening and the Cybex test which is used to measure the maximum strength of a joint throughout its available range-of-motion.
The NFL Draft is April 28-30 in Las Vegas. The first round is on Thursday the 28th followed by rounds two and three on Friday. Four through seven picks are made on Saturday.
