The dynamic duo of Jalen Hunt and Parker Manny for the McMinn County Cherokees (7-0, 3-0) will be the key focus for Cleveland defenders Friday night. McMinn’s offense runs through Hunt who has tallied 934 yards rushing and 8 touchdowns. Cleveland’s defense will have to play lights out and WR Deuce Flowers will have to make more than his share of big plays in order to pull off the upset.

It’s been a rough go of things for Hixson head coach Gary Murray. His Wildcat team is sitting at 1-6 and 1-3 in district play, and Howard comes into town looking to put their undefeated road record to the test. The Hustlin’ Tigers are 3-0 on the road this season, and will have to use their athletes to defeat a much lesser Hixson football team.

Knoxville Catholic (5-1, 1-2) has defeated Baylor by double-digits in the past two meetings. Irish RB Keondre Jarmon boasts 519 rushing yards this season, and his running behind Tennessee OL commit Cooper Mays. Another Tennessee commit, Baylor RB Elijah Howard will look to steal the show and will have to do so if Baylor (6-1, 2-1) wants to defeat the Irish in this game.

Rhea County can clinch the program’s region championship since 2016. Soddy-Daisy had to scratch and claw to defeat the Eagles last season, but Rhea County and RB Bradley Goodwin will look to avenge that loss from last season.

Ridgeland (2-4, 1-1) has had a rough go of things to begin the 2019 season, but a win tonight against LaFayette (3-4, 1-2) could begin a strong finish to the season. Ridgeland’s offensive trio of Jordan Blackwell, Torrance Roberts, and Terrance Roberts will have to run wild against the Ramblers. Jalen Ramsey and Jamario Clements have the talent to keep up with Ridgeland, but the Panthers shouldn’t have any problem scoring at will on LaFayette’s defense.
