ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit joined ESPN Radio on Thursday night and dropped a bombshell of quotes on football fans around the country.
Herbstreit said he would be shocked if the football season happened due to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus pandemic. He went on to say discuss the danger of letting athletes into locker rooms and fans into the stadiums.
The pandemic has brought much of the sports world to a halt. The NBA, NHL and MLB have all postponed their seasons due to COVID-19 and multiple professional athletes, including NBA star Kevin Durant have tested positive for the virus. Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz have been cleared since their diagnosis.
There are over 90,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and over 1,300 deaths in the United States as of Friday morning.
