University of Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm took to social media on Wednesday to announce that he will forgo his senior season and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Fromm burst onto the scene in Athens as a true freshman in 2017 following an injury to starting quarterback, Jacob Eason. That season, Fromm led the Bulldogs to their first SEC title in 12 years and an appearance in the College Football Playoff National Championship. Georgia fell to Alabama 26-23 in overtime. Eason transferred to Washington in the offseason.

Fromm led Georgia to SEC East titles in each of the last 3 seasons, while compiling a 35-6 record as a starter.

Fromm’s numbers declined in 2019, but the third-year starter still managed to complete 60.8% of his passes while throwing for 2,860 yards, 24 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He leaves the college game having completed more than 60% of his passes in each of his three seasons in Athens.

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper currently has Fromm listed as the fifth-best draft-eligible quarterback in 2020. LSU quarterback and Heisman trophy winner Joe Burrow tops Kiper’s list, followed by Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa, Oregon’s Justin Herbert and Washington’s Jacob Eason.

Georgia running-back D’Andre Swift and offensive tackles Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson have already announced they will forgo their senior seasons and enter the draft.
