The Braves have announced the re-signing of veteran RHP Josh Tomlin to a minor league contract. He will also receive an invitation to big league camp. Braves beat writer Mark Bowman first reported the news.

Tomlin mainly worked as a long reliever for Atlanta in 2019. He posted a 3.74 ERA over 79.1 innings in the regular season. The right-hander also posted 3.2 shutout innings during the 2019 postseason. His 51 appearances last season were a career high and his big league experience will be a plus for the Braves bullpen.

Before coming to Atlanta, Tomlin spent nine seasons with the Cleveland Indians. He posted ten or more wins three times in his time with the Tribe and his 13-9 mark in 2016 was the best of his career. He is a candidate to fill the Braves’ long reliever role again this season.
